Storm UK has a competent Fight Team who have travelled locally and nationally to competitions. Our club is a regular at such events such as the Peterborough Series and the Norfolk Open, where we have a two times Norfolk Open Grand Champion in 16 year old Morgan Holland. 2014 brought Morgan and opportunity to step up to the National Level and enter 3 of the Cimac Superleague Series. Bringing home 3 bronze medals and coming 4th on the National League Tables for Continuous Fighting. This year more of our fight team hope to take this step up into one of the best competitions on the circuit.
The Peterborough Series and the Norfolk Open have already kicked off the new season to a great start with many podium positions as have the first in the series of the CIMAC Superleague.
Fight Team membership is by invitation only to ensure that only the most skilled and confident students are entered into competitions.
Storm UK has a brand new fight team for 2015, complete with a brand new uniform.
Our aim is to give children and adults alike an opportunity to further themselves in this, their chosen sport, and by entering competitions this can only help them achieve their goal. Kickboxing is a highly technical yet cardiovascular sport requiring confidence and a dedicated attitude.
Have you got what it takes?
4 Fighters from STORM UK fought at an amazing boxing and kickboxing show over the weekend, coached eagerly from the corner by our Chief Instructor Sensei Wayne Pearl and Junior Instructor Paul Lawrence. Weigh ins began at 4.30pm with two fighters making the weight required after a short notice weight drop. There was a quick face off for the IMPACT Photographer, before being able to tuck into some healthy snacks to fuel up ready for the evening. The evening kicked off at 7pm with Ethan Lawrence first out. Ethan fought well, but came runner up after stoppage. Our next fighter up was Morgan Holland who went the full 3 rounds to have a close decision in the scoring, and came runner up after losing out by one point. Jack Middleton was out straight after and again went the full three rounds, only for it to be declared a draw and having to fight a fourth decider, where Jack just lost out by one point again to become runner up. The Storm crew were able to watch some of the fights, before the boxing bouts began. Our man Joe Mitchell stepped up at short notice for a boxing match, and after taking a sharp blow, had his fight stopped by the ref, despite Joe wanting to carry on! The fighters soaked up the atmosphere and we received some very good feedback and hopefully we shall be there at PRIDE 5!
